This federal contract award is for IT infrastructure and desktop support services for the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Research and Development (ORD). The contract was awarded to Patriot LLC, doing business as Patriot Innovations, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) based in Maryland. The contract has a ceiling value of $53,303,775.11 and uses the Chief Information Officer - Solutions and Partners 3, Small Business (CIO-SP3 SB) contract vehicle, which is a government-wide acquisition contract (GWAC) managed by the National Institutes of Health Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC). The contract provides a range of IT services, including networking, application development, cybersecurity, and IT lifecycle support, to the EPA's ORD. The contract does not have a set-aside designation.
The Office of Research and Development (ORD) is the scientific research arm of EPA. Its leading-edge research informs Agency decisions and supports the emerging needs of EPA stakeholders, including the Agency’s state, tribal, and community partners.
ORD conducts the research for EPA that provides the foundation for credible decision-making to safeguard human health and ecosystems from environmental pollutants. ORD's work is organized into six research programs that identify the most pressing environmental health research needs with input from Agency offices, partners, and stakeholders. ORD's Strategic Research Action Plans updated every few years outline the research underway in the programs. ORD Offices and Centers are situated in 10 facilities across the country. ORD also serve as the Agency’s National Program Manager for Regional Laboratories.
